Goran Pandev played a part in a goal for Napoli but also received a straight red card in the 70th minute for a bad foul.

Goran Pandev started up front for Napoli in an attacking minded formation in the home encounter against Atalanta.  In the 13th minute, with Atalanta leading 0:1, Pandev made a run towards goal and was then surrounded by three opposing players but Goran managed to find his teammate Ezequiel Lavezzi whose first effort was saved but he scored on the rebound to tie the game.

It was 1:1 at halftime but Atalanta continued to frustrate Napoli after the break and scored the next two goals in the 58th and 68th minute.  Two minutes later, a frustrated Pandev committed a bad foul against Atalanta midfielder Maxi Moralez and was shown a straight red card by the referee.  The red card was Pandev's first since the 2006-07 season when he played for Lazio.  Napoli suffered a bad 1:3 home loss and dropped to a tie for sixth place on the table with Inter.  Roma, with its win over Udinese, overtook Napoli to take over the fifth position.

Pandev plays part in Napoli goal (at 1:30), and later receives a red card (at 2:12):
