Although he was previously being linked to Bregalnica Shtip, Stojan Ignjatov will continue his career with Metalurg, daily newspaper Makedonski Sport reported.  The veteran midfielder has signed a 2 year deal with Metalurg.

Ignjatov was born on 22.12.1979 and is a former national team player.  Stojan made 11 caps for the Macedonian national team.  When it comes to the domestic league in Macedonia, Ignjatov has featured for both Sileks and Rabotnichki earlier in his career.  In addition, he won the domestic league trophy on two occasions with Rabotnichki, coming in 2005 and 2006.  Stojan then moved abroad where he played for the likes of Samsunspor in Turkey, Beijing Guoan in China, Politehnica Iaşi in Romania and he last played for Ethnikos Achnas in Cyprus.  Stojan became a free agent this summer and he has now decided to return to Macedonia to join Metalurg.  However, with the signing coming today, Ignjatov will be ineligible to play for Metalurg during their UEFA Europa League second qualifying round matchup against Polish side Ruch Chorzów.
