At a press conference held today in the hotel "Alexander Palace," FFM president Ilcho Gjorgjioski presented the new manager of Macedonia, Chedomir Janevski.  He signed a contract for 14 months, until the end of the 2014 World Cup qualifications.

"In my opinion, this is the best option for both sides.  After the end of the qualifications we can judge the results and determine whether we should prolong the cooperation or not.  We all know there are very good teams in our group who all have certain qualities.  I hope that we can give our best and possibly qualify to the World Cup.  I believe that we can achieve better results that the prior qualifications, but will not predict what place we will finish because all of our opponents are solid teams.  All I can promise is that we will give good effort in every match.  It's a long tournament with five home and five away games.  It would have been better if we played at least one home game in September, but that didn't happen and we have to deal with it.  At the moment, we don't have much time before the first match against Croatia so there won't be drastic changes to the squad.  I will probably add just two or three new players that I think can help the team." - Janevski stated at today's press conference.

The new president of FFM, Ilcho Gjorgjioski, was content with the new manager.  He said, "I'm very happy that we have brought Chede Janevski.  I believe that we finally have a man who can be our true leader.  Janevski has everything that we were looking for in a manager, and we welcome him with open arms."

Janevski was a candidate to be named manager last summer, but he eventually lost out to John Toshack.  However, with Toshack now gone, Janevski will be given the chance to lead Macedonia.  During his playing career, Chedomir made 5 caps for Macedonia and before that made two appearances for the former Yugoslavia.
