Krste Velkoski vs. Ivan MitrovKrste Velkoski vs. Ivan MitrovAs Bregalnica Shtip visits Rabotnichki on Saturday, it was a good occassion to talk to two of the best players in the Macedonian First League, Krste Velkoski and Ivan Mitrov.

The clashes between these two teams have always been interesting, high-scoring and with turnarounds. Both players are 24-years old and are offensive players. Velkoski plays in the attack and has spent much of his career in Rabotnichki with today being the club's captain, while Mitrov is a winger and currently stands as the player with most attractive style of play in the Macedonian best league.

Rabotnichki finds itself in the relegation play-off zone with only 3 points more than the place that leads to direct relegation. None expected struggle for surviving instead of a fight for a place in the European cups. What can we expect from the team in the rest of the season?
Krste: Oh well, it’s sadly indeed to see Rabotnichki on this position, but that’s football, sometimes you are up there and sometimes you fall down. I hope that with 3-4 quality reinforcements in the second half-season Rabotnichki will get back on track, will go in the better half of the table and fight for a place in the Europa League.

You are known by the attractive style of play that you use. Does that have anything to do with the futsal you used to play before?
Ivan: Well, I think that there is a big difference between futsal and football, nevertheless it's not difficult for me to perform the attractive style on whatever kind of pitch.

Next on schedule is Bregalnica at home in the last round of the first half-season. It’s a chance to go up a place or two and to win valuable points. What are your advantages and what are the weak points of your opponents?
Krste: Of course that with a win we will go up some place, but it won’t be anything close to an easy game. Bregalnica is an excellent team who plays good football. Still we are playing at home and the points are more than important. It won’t be good to talk to any advantages or weak points as that’s the job for our managers to tell us before the game.

Next on schedule is Rabotnichki on road in the last round of the first half-season. It’s a chance to win valuable points. What are your advantages and what are the weak points of your opponents?
Ivan: At any rate the points of the next game are important for us to be as near as possible to the leading teams. In my opinion our strength is that we have players who can decide the match with just one action. A disadvantage of our opponent is the absence of key players because of yellow cards suspensions.

In the analyses made by most of the members on our Forum, you featured in the possible squad that national team manager Chede Janevski would build up for Poland friendly. But at the end he didn’t call you. Do you think that your club’s bad results are partly guilty for that or maybe you feel that you could have played better?
Krste: I don’t feel right to make comment on the squad as it’s the coach’s job, it’s up to me in the future to show better play and score more goals so I hope I would get my chance in some other occasion.

You are in the national team squad for the friendly against Poland, something that was expected by many of our Forum members because of your good form. What kind of motivation boost does this give you for your future career?
Ivan: Sure the nomination is an additional motivation for me to be successful in my career. Each player dreams of playing for his national team and definitely I want to confirm my good games from the league in the national team.

What do you think about Ivan Mitrov who will face you in this game?
Krste: I don’t know him personally, but as a player this season he has been great and surely he will be the biggest threat to our goal.

What do you think about Krste Velkoski who will face you in this game?
Ivan: I think that Krste Velkoski is one of the better players of our league.

We wish them a good game on Sunday and may the better team wins!
