The 21-year-old Alioski recently sat down for an interview with MacedonianFootball.com.  Alioski currently plays his club football with Swiss second division side Schaffhausen, and is also a member of both the senior national team and U21 national team of Macedonia.

Gjanni made his debut for Macedonia in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Wales on 11 October 2013.  He then added his second appearance four days later in the qualifier against Serbia.  Both of his appearances came under former caretaker manager Zoran Stratev.  In addition to that, Alioski has also been a regular for the U21 national team for manager Boban Babunski.

So, with his recent ascend at both the club and national team level, we decided to reach out to Gjanni for a quick interview since his club team had already begun their winter preparations.  We talked about his trial period at Stuttgart during the summer of 2013, his relationship with the Schaffhausen manager and whether they can realistically win promotion, his debut for Macedonia and his aspirations for the future.

Here is our brief question and answer session with Alioski:

MF: In the summer of 2013, you were on trial at German side Stuttgart. How was that experience and what did you learn from your time there?
EA: It was something beautiful to train at Stuttgart, it was truly awesome.  Over there, the aggressiveness was at a higher level.

MF: How is your relationship with Schaffhausen manager Maurizio Jacobacci and do you feel your current club has the ability to win promotion to the Swiss top division?
EA: The manager and president have great trust in me.  I have learned a lot from the manager.  He does his job well and we have a chance to fight for first place.  We are taking it game to game.

MF: Describe the feeling of making your debut for the senior national team of Macedonia during the match against Wales?
EA: Just the call up to the national team was something special.  I was very happy at that moment and even happier when I got a chance to play.  It is the best thing that can happen in life to be able to play for your homeland.  This will give me even more motivation in the future.

MF: Where do you see yourself in 3 years?
EA: Hehe, that I can't tell, I don't know.  I am now here, contributing for the club and showing what I can do.  But, I would like to play in England or Germany.

In the coming days, we will publish additional interviews that we did with other Macedonian footballers.  The next three that will be featured include Zeni Husmani, Nikola Jakimovski and Darko Tasevski.  We will publish an article, concerning an interview with a player, every 1-2 days while a number of leagues around Europe are still on their winter break.
