Since Muangthong United finished in second place last season, they have to participate in qualifications to reach the group stages of the AFC Champions League. Muangthong started from the second qualifying round where today, over one leg, they eliminated Vietnamese side Hà Nội T&T by winning 2:0. Gjurovski scored the first goal in the 35th minute with a powerful left footed shot, while in the second half striker Jay Bothroyd added another goal to put the game away.

Highlights of the game (Gjurovski goal at 2:10):

In the third and final round of qualifying, Gjurovski and Muangthong United will take on Australian club Melbourne Victory at Kardinia Park in Geelong. The match will take place on 15 February and the winner will qualify for a place in the group stages of the AFC Champions League. The winning team between Muangthong and Melbourne Victory will then be in Group G together with Guangzhou Evergrande (China), Yokohama F·Marinos (Japan) and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (South Korea).  As a reminder, Guangzhou Evergrande, the club managed by well known Italian coach Marcello Lippi, is the 2013 winner of the AFC Champions League.
