Pelister hosts Metalurg in the most interesting match of Round 27Pelister hosts Metalurg in the most interesting match of Round 27On Saturday, Pelister hosts Metalurg and will be looking to get back on the first place, while at the same time the visitor will be looking to join the battle for top 3 places on the table.

Pelister, currently 2nd on the table, with same number of points as table leaders Rabotnichki are hosting cup semi-finalists Metalurg in a battle for the top of the table. We have picked this match as one of the most interesting this round and we have chosen two players who have a lot of in common. They are both important for their clubs, they have both played for the other club in the past and they share the last name - as they are brothers.

Midfielder Petar Ljamchevski was part of Metalurg but is now back in Pelister and, especially in the second half-season, is one of Pelister's most important players. In Metalurg, left back Blagoja Ljamchevski is one of the most important links. He has started his career in Pelister and is now back to face his first club. We reached out to both of them to ask them about their opinions before this important match.

MF: Like never before, Pelister is on top of the table with just 7 rounds to go. Do you think you have it in you to win the historic title or the club will be content with finishing on any of the top 3 places?
Petar: Yes, we are sharing the first place with Rabotnichki, but we will be satisfied if we can get a place for UEFA Europa League, that is our primary goal. Of course, we are not going to give up on the race for first place as we have realistic chances and we will fight until the very end for that historic first place and a trophy in Bitola.

MF: 3 points behind table leaders and an active result in the Macedonian Cup semi-final. Does some competition have an advantage for Metalurg or you will give it a shot in achieving history and winning the double crown?
Blagoja: Championship has never been so equal. 5 teams are fighting for first place. We are 3 points away from first place and we are strongly wishing for it. At the same time, we are playing in the Cup semi-final which means we are battling on two fronts. Maybe the time has come for achieving history and winning both trophies.

MF: You have a great season in Pelister, especially in the second part. Do you have long-term plans for your career or you are currently focused on finishing this season first?
Petar: Of course I am thinking about my career, but at the moment Pelister is number 1 priority. I am here, where I started my career, at least until the end of this season, so I will be thinking about the future afterwards.

MF: You have a lot of experience playing for several successful clubs in Macedonia. You have also played in the European competitions and you have caps for the national team. Has the time come for transferring abroad or you have a valid contract with Metalurg and you will stay there the next season, too?
Blagoja: In my career, I have always played for teams who were fighting for the top. At the moment, I hope I can throw my name in front of Boshko Gjurovski and get more matches for the national team. My contract with Metalurg runs until June, 2015 but if the right offer arrives, I am sure we can work out a deal. I would like to try myself abroad after this season.

MF: You are hosting Metalurg, a tough team which has the fewest defeats so far in the season and the least amount of goals conceded. Do you know the way of dealing with them?
Petar: Metalurg are a very good team, I have played there and I know them inside out. They have a lot of experienced players combined with talented youngsters and it will certainly going to be a tough match, but we have showed twice we have quality and can compete with them. We respect them a lot, but we know how to deal with them and I think the points will remain in Bitola.

MF: You are visiting Pelister, a team hungry for successes and first title. Do you think you know Pelister's weaknesses and you will be able to exploit them?
Blagoja: Pelister are playing really well this season and that is why they are on the top. However, I am always optimist and I think we can win Pod Tumbe Kafe. I think that there will not be a lot to choose from both sides, but our advantage is the fact we will be playing without pressure. We will go and compete with the home team and may the better team win.

MF: In these interviews, the last question is always reserved for the opinion of the other player. In your cases, it's not just an opponent, it is your brother.
Petar: I know him really well (laughs). I have the utmost opinion about him. He is one of the best left backs in the country. A fast player with great crosses. He caused us a lot of problems in both matches but I hope he will not repeat the good play on Saturday in front of our supporters.

Blagoja: I may sound biased, but I know Petar the best. He is one of the best players in our league. He has a great technique, vision of play and can create and be part of a lot of chances in one match. I honestly hope he will not be at his best tomorrow.

The match between Pelister and Metalurg is scheduled for Saturday, 12.04.2014 at 15.00 CET. National television MRT will broadcast it live.
