In front of an almost empty Philip II despite the free entrance, Rabotnichki and Metalurg played the 22nd Macedonian Cup final. It was either going to be a third trophy for Rabotnichki or second for Metalurg and in both ways both teams still have chances for winning the title in the championship as well.

What was a rather slow and uneventful start, completely changed when Peev was sent off after half an hour play after he kicked Sulejmanov without a ball. Since then, Rabotnichki took over the initiative and controlled the play but did not created too serious chances. However, when everyone thought it was going to be 0:0 after half-time, a shot by Velkovski was handballed by Vujović in the box and Mechkarovski pointed to the penalty spot. Manevski successfully converted the penalty and Rabotnichki had both numerous and result advantage for the second half.

In the second half, Metalurg did not gave up and instead tried attacking but the fact they remained with 10 men and Rabotnichki knew how to defend and create counter attacks did not left too much hope for Metalurg. They were dangerous from the set pieces and from one such Ljamchevski sent the ball in the box, Stoychev misjudged the ball and Berisha could have equalized the score but his header went just wide. As Metalurg had to play even more attacking in the dying minutes, Rabotnichki was even more dangerous from the counter attacks and after a couple of missed opportunities, Bulgarian Petrov set the final score of 2:0 in the injury time.
