Injury snaps Martin Bogatinov's perfect streak

Martin BogatinovMartin BogatinovMartin Bogatinov was one of three players to play every minute in the Cypriot league this season, until an injury snapped that streak on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Martin Bogatinov had featured in all 22 league games for Ermis this season, playing the maximum 1,980 minutes in the process. Only two other players in the Cypriot top flight had accomplished that feat, those being APOEL defender Mário Sérgio and Apollon goalkeeper Bruno Vale.

However, on Saturday, that number dropped to two when Bogatinov missed Ermis' game versus Apollon due to an injury. The injury is not considered to be serious, but it did snap Bogatinov's streak. In the end, his replacement fared well as Ermis won 1:0 over Apollon.

Bogatinov will look to start a new streak next weekend when his team takes on Anorthosis. Martin has played for two managers this season, but both have chosen him as the starting keeper.

Furthermore, Martin currently serves as the backup keeper on the national team behind Tome Pachovski. However, he has yet to feature in this qualifying cycle. The last time Bogatinov actually played for Macedonia, he was having difficulties judging long free kicks and crosses. That's something that was a big weakness of his, not knowing when to come out and when to stay in his goal. Hopefully he has improved in that area during his time in Cyprus.
