Damjan ShishkovskiDamjan ShishkovskiThe young goalkeeper has left a good enough impression in trainings to make Gent want to extend his stay.

Damjan Shishkovski moved to Gent in the winter transfer window from Rabotnichki. However, it was only a 6-month loan, or until this summer. The agreement also had an option for one more year, but Gent has decided to turn down that option since they didn't like some of the terms, according to what Belgian newspapers reported on Thursday.

However, the same reports also stated that Gent would like to keep Shishkovski. They simply want to renegotiate some of the terms to be more favorable for their club. Otherwise, the newspaper wrote that Shishkovski has done well in trainings, impressing the coaches with his attitude and potential. We'll see if Damjan's parent club, Rabotnichki, obliges to whatever new terms Gent offers.

Gent had a very good regular season by finishing tied for 2nd place on the standings, only trailing Club Brugge. They will now enter the Play-Off I for teams that finished in 1st to 6th place. As for Damjan, the plan all along was for him to primarily be the third keeper. The club wanted a younger player there to test his attitude and abilities. Since he has met expectations, Gent will look to retain Shishkovski's services for the foreseeable future.
