Another injury scare involving Arijan Ademi. In Saturday's league clash between Dinamo Zagreb and RNK Split, Ademi took a knee to the hip area around the 3rd minute. He was in a lot of pain and stayed on the group for several minutes, while Dinamo's doctors observed him. Arijan was unable to continue, leading to his eventual substitution in the 7th minute when Portuguese midfielder Gonçalo Santos took his place.

Dinamo Zagreb would go on to easily beat RNK Split 3:0. After the game, the team's head coach, Zoran Mamic, was asked about the severity of Ademi's injury.

This is what he said, "He received a tough blow to the hip, but according to initial reports he should be fine for Wednesday's game. Of course, we will check how he is feeling over the coming days."

The Wednesday game that Mamic was referencing is the Champions League qualifier against Skenderbeu in Albania. That will be the first leg in the play-off round of that competition.

It's obviously good news that the injury is not believed to be serious. Ademi could be given painkillers to deal with the discomfort, if such a thing is needed. Let's hope Arijan will stay healthy by the time Macedonia plays its next two qualifiers on September 5 and 8.
