Kerkyra, the club of Vladimir Dimitrovski, learned on Tuesday that their appeal has been rejected, meaning the relegation remains intact.

Unpleasant situation for Vladimir Dimitrovski and the other Kerkyra players. Just days before the start of the new season in Greece, a court rejected Kerkyra's final appeal to keep its top division status.

Based on the results, Kerkyra finished tied for 9th place last season in the 18 team Greek league. That was good enough to avoid relegation, but Kerkyra's license was revoked this summer because there were irregularities committed by ownership. So, the Greek federation did not issue them a license for the upcoming season in the top division. Kerkyra immediately appealed the ruling and after a lengthy legal process, a court rejected the club's final appeal on Tuesday.

Kerkyra will now compete in the second division, while Levadiakos is the biggest beneficiary as they will remain in the top tier of Greek football.

This decision obviously affects Vladimir Dimitrovski, a member of the national team. He is still with Kerkyra even though the season in Greece starts this weekend. He will have until the end of the month to transfer to another team. That is not a lot of time, so we'll see whether Dimitrovski manages to switch clubs by the deadline.
