Good and bad news for Vladimir Dimitrovski. His transfer from Kerkyra to Qarabağ is complete after some back-and-forth negotiations, but he was not signed on time to be registered for the Europa League. So, Dimitrovski will not be able to feature for Qarabağ in the group stages of this season's Europa League. The Azeri club was handed a very attractive group with the likes of Tottenham (England), Anderlecht (Belgium) and Monaco (France).

Dimitrovski will obviously rue missing those types of games, but his club situation is now settled. He was looking to leave Kerkyra this summer after the Greek federation failed to issue them a license. That came about after an illegal transfer of ownership, so Kerkyra was sent down to the second division. As a result, many of their top players left, the latest being Dimitrovski.

This transfer follows what has been a tough couple of days for Dimitrovski. The main reason he wanted to depart Kerkyra was to keep his national team status, but that is now up in the air. He disappointed both manager Ljubinko Drulovic and director Sasha Ciric after he left the team hotel early on Wednesday morning. He went to Greece to iron out his documents, but his mistake was not notifying Drulovic or Ciric.

On Thursday, Dimitrovski returned to Macedonia and went back to the hotel. There, he apologized to Drulovic, the coaches and his teammates. Vladimir told them that he understands that he made a mistake, and accepted the decision by Drulovic to be withdrawn from the squad for the two qualifiers against Luxembourg and Spain.

The disciplinary committee of the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) will deal with the case involving Dimitrovski. They will decide what his punishment will be, and whether the central defender will be given another chance to represent Macedonia.
