Adis Jahovic no closer to return from injury

Striker Adis Jahovic has made little progress on the injury to his right knee, and Krylia Sovetov has already ruled him out for the upcoming games.

The injury update for Adis Jahovic is not good news. Back in early July, it was announced that Jahovic was expected to miss about 6 weeks, but that timetable has proven to be false. Instead, nearly ten weeks have passed since that time, and the return of Jahovic is not imminent. He remains week-to-week.

That was confirmed by Vitaliy Shashkov, the general director of Krylia Sovetov. This is the update he gave on Adis, "Jahovic will not be able to play this weekend. As a matter of fact, he definitely won't be available for the next few games as well. Adis is currently in Germany where he is rehabbing the injury with his doctor. As to when he will return, I don't know. I can just say that you won't see him on the field in the upcoming several games."

Krylia Sovetov, now competing in the Russian top division, plays five more fixtures before the international break in October. Based on the statement by Shashkov, it does seem unlikely that Adis will return to game action before that time.

Jahovic will need to strengthen the right knee, which he is doing now, as the injury did not allow him to train much in the early stages. So, even when he is cleared, Adis will need time to get in playing shape. There is a difference, after all, between being in shape and being in football shape. The latter is only achieved through playing and training on a consistent basis.
