Macedonia played a 1:1 draw in the final game of the friendly tournament, but it wasn't enough as Italy came in first place thanks to a better goal-difference.

The friendly tournament played in Skopje between the U16 national teams of Macedonia, Italy and Serbia concluded today with the final game pitting hosts Macedonia and favorites Italy. The young Macedonians took the lead early in the 9th minute when Enis Fazlagikj scored directly from a free kick, clearly showing they were not afraid of the big opponent. Macedonia had to win in order to come in first place since both teams beat Serbia, but Italy had the better goal-difference (3:0 as opposed to 3:1).

Eventually, the "Azzurrini" equalized in the 31st minute and managed to hold on to that score until the final whistle. Italy, therefore, is the winner of this friendly tournament, but we have to admit that Macedonia U16 played really well in these two games. If they continue like this, the future will be bright.
