With a pretty new squad and couple of new names, Macedonia outplayed Azerbaijan and managed to celebrate a 3:1 win in the friendly game played today in Austria.

Macedonia took the lead first through Shkendija's Marjan Radeski in the 17th minute. He got a good ball from Pandev and sent a strong low shot in the opposing corner, scoring his first goal for the national team.

13 minutes later, Pandev scored his 27th goal for the national team, first since he ended his retirement. He was the fastest to react in the box after confusion in the opposition defense and doubled the scoreline. 0:2 was the result on half-time. Macedonia was the better opponent in the first half as they also created other chances and deservedly held a two-goals lead. In the second period, Azerbaijan played somewhat better and posed some danger, but it took them a penalty to score a goal. They had a chance from an indirect free-kick inside the box but the shot was stopped by Nikolov with his hand and the referee pointed to the spot. Ismailov converted the penalty and made it 1:2, but Nestorovski extended his goalscoring form to the national team as well, as he utilized a quick counter attack and a great cross to make it 1:3. Just as Radeski, this was Nestorovski's first goal for the national team.

The team now returns to Skopje and on 2nd of June they will face Iran in another friendly match.
