The team from Debar Maalo did not start the game good with newly elected captain Trajchevski picking up a yellow card after only three minutes of play. The guests from Montenegro played better under the Skopje sun and their effort was rewarded in the 36th minute when 19-year-old Velizar Janketić broke the deadlock.

Rabotnichki had difficulties to threaten the Montenegrin goal, but started playing better after Filip Duranski and Elif Elmas were introduced in the second half. Eventually the equalizer came ten minutes from time when another substitute, Colombian winger Herrera Cardona found Elmas who scored. In the last moments central defender Mitrev had a colossal chance for a win, but failed to score on a header.

It is a disappointing result for Rabotnichki who failed to use the home team advantage. The Macedonian team will now have to look for a goal in Montenegro in order to avaoid embarassing elimination in the first round of the Europa League.

The return leg will be played on 7 July at the Gradski stadium in Podgorica with a kick-off at 19.00 CET.
