Their opening opponent is the team that lost the promotion/relegation play-off but was additionaly added to the league after Mladost failed to met the necessary requirements. Novaci is the club that has spent the most sesaons in the Second League, 19, and now they will be looking forward to cement a place for next season as well.

Eventually Vardar's dream of getting back in the Second League came true after 7 seasons in the Third League South and one lost promotion play-off. Vardar will continue dreaming of a historic First League promotion. They will open the sesaon in front of their own fans against debutant Akademija Pandev, only the 6-year-old club formed by Macedonian star player Goran Pandev. After getting relegated as one of by far the worst teams in the First League last season, Metalurg now brought in several new players in order to get back in the top flight. They face Teteks who once again has a difficult start as the team started training only few days ago since the team was playerless due to financial probems and its Second League spot was questioned. The Tetovo based team will only look to avoid relegation this season.

Tikvesh is back in the Second League after 4 seasons, but only because they bought the place of Ljubanci. They never earned promotion ending third in last season's edition of the Third League South. in the first half-season they will play under the name of Ljubanci, but to avoid confusion we will always refer to them as Tikvesh. Their guest this round is the team of Skopje who, as always, has only ambitions to stay in the league. Tikvesh's ambitions are to get back in the top flight, but it's hard to believe that they could achieve that this season.
