The Youth League shouldn't be confused with the Youth Champions League. It is not the same competition although at some points they join in a single competition. The Youth Champions League is consisted with the exact teams that compete on senior level put in exactly the same groups. Vardar started from the Round 1 and got eliminated, while Salzburg will now have to pass Kairat in Round 2 in order to reach the stage when the two competitions merge. There, a phase called play-off will feature 8 teams from this path and the 8 runners-up from the Youth Champions League group stage. The winners will join the 8 group winners of the Youth Champions League group stage in a finale knock-out phase.
