The U17 national team of Macedonia failed to reach the elite round of the 2017 EURO qualifications due to a yellow card more then Armenia in the ranking of third-placed teams, so now a new generation will try to achieve that.

The qualifiers for the 2018 U17 EURO that will be played in England will start next September and Octomber. Today's draw put Macedonia into the Group 2 together with the U17 national teams of Bosnia-Herzegovina (Pot 1), Slovakia (Pot 2) and Moldova (Pot 3). Macedonia was placed in the last Pot D where it was the best ranked team. All of our opponents were bottom-ranked in their pots (ok, Bosnia is second-to-last). UEFA decided that the mini-tournament will be played in Macedonia, so the our boys will have the home field advantage.

The matches will be played from 2nd to the 8th of October 2017 with the top two in each group along with the four third-placed teams with the best record against the leading pair will join Germany and Portugal in the elite round in spring 2018.

In the elite round, the eight group winners and seven runners-up with the best record against the teams first and third in their pool will join England in that May's finals. Sixteen teams will participate at the 2018 U17 EURO final tournament.
